Secure Vault - Photo & Video ("the App") is designed with your privacy as the top priority. We believe that your private photos, videos, and documents should remain exactly that—private. This policy explains how we protect your data and respect your privacy.
✨ The Short Version
We don't collect, store, access, or share any of your data. Period. Your photos, videos, and documents never leave your device. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no way to see what you store in your vault.
Information We Do NOT Collect
Secure Vault - Photo & Video does not collect any information whatsoever. This includes:
- Personal Information: No names, emails, phone numbers, or account creation
- Photos, Videos, or Documents: Your media is stored only on your device, never uploaded anywhere
- Usage Data: No tracking of how you use the app
- Analytics: No third-party analytics services
- Location Data: We don't access your location
- Device Information: No device identifiers or fingerprinting
- Advertising IDs: No ads, no ad tracking
How Your Data is Protected
Local Storage Only
All photos, videos, and documents you add to Secure Vault - Photo & Video are stored exclusively on your device. Your media is saved in the app's private, sandboxed storage area that other apps cannot access.
AES-256 Encryption
Every file in your vault is encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption—the same standard used by governments, banks, and security professionals worldwide. Your media is encrypted before being saved to storage and decrypted only when you view it.
🔐 About Your Encryption Key
Your encryption key is generated automatically and stored securely in your device's Keychain. The key is protected by your device's security (Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode). If you enable iCloud Keychain, your encryption key syncs across your devices—but Apple encrypts this data end-to-end, meaning even Apple cannot access it.
Important: We never have access to your encryption key. If you lose access to your device and don't have iCloud Keychain enabled, your encrypted data cannot be recovered by anyone—including us.
Auto-Lock Protection
Your vault automatically locks whenever you:
- Switch to another app
- Lock your device
- Let your screen time out
This ensures your private content is never accidentally exposed.
Decoy Mode
Secure Vault - Photo & Video includes an optional Decoy Mode feature. You can set up a secondary PIN that opens a completely empty, fake vault. If someone pressures you to open the app, you can show them the decoy vault while your real files remain completely hidden and undetectable.
iCloud Backup
Secure Vault - Photo & Video offers optional encrypted iCloud backup with additional password protection. When you create a backup:
- Your files are encrypted with AES-256 before upload
- You set a separate backup password for extra security
- Backups sync across your Apple devices via iCloud Drive
- Without your backup password, the data is unreadable
You have complete control over when backups are created and can delete them at any time.
Photo Library Access
Secure Vault - Photo & Video requests access to your Photo Library only when you choose to import photos or videos into your vault, or when you export items from your vault back to your Photo Library. We use this permission solely to:
- Allow you to select photos and videos to import
- Preserve original filenames, EXIF data, and metadata during import
- Export decrypted media back to your Photo Library when you choose
We never access your Photo Library without your explicit action, and we never upload, transmit, or share your photos anywhere.
Third-Party Services
Secure Vault - Photo & Video does not use any third-party services, including:
- No analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
- No crash reporting services
- No advertising networks
- No social media SDKs
- No external cloud storage services
Children's Privacy
Secure Vault - Photo & Video does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we collect no data whatsoever, there is no children's data to protect. The app contains no objectionable content and is rated 4+ on the App Store.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and may notify you through an app update. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Our commitment to collecting zero data means meaningful changes are unlikely—but we'll always be transparent if anything changes.
Your Rights
Since we don't collect any personal data, traditional data rights (access, deletion, portability) don't apply in the conventional sense. However, you always have complete control over your data:
- Access: All your data is on your device—you have full access
- Deletion: Delete any file from your vault at any time, or simply delete the app to remove all vault data
- Portability: Export any or all of your vault contents to your Photo Library whenever you want
